Now is the best time to spend some time revisiting relationship lies – after all, what is more important than the relationship you have with those closest to you, especially a partner?
The pandemic has taught us to not take anything for granted. We are learning to value each other more, and to tell each other how much we matter.
And revisiting relationships lies that we might be believing is key for deepening and strengthening our relationships.
Last week, we looked at a couple of key relationship lies:
A great relationship should be easy
And this week, I encourage you to consider how these might apply to your relationship:
It’s my partner’s role to fulfill all my emotional needs
My partner owes me for what I do
I don’t have to change who I am
Take time to read and reflect, and then take a big bravery pill and talk these issues through with your partner.
Be kind, objective and open minded.
Talk about what one step will be to dismantle the lies and move closer together.
And enjoy – you are precious and of great value and so are your relationships.
Revisiting relationship lies allows you to look again at how you are connecting.
Life is too short to live lies.
